Posture device featuring Nanosensor Technology
Moacir Schnapp, a Memphis-based neurologist has launched a posture correction device. His innovation, called ‘the iPosture’, is intended to aid men and women in improving their posture that benefits their health in the long run. The iPosture is to be worn for approximately four hours each day for the initial two to four weeks in order to correct posture by establishing a habit in the user.
One inch in diameter, the iPosture is designed with a technology that senses when the body slouches, and alerts the user with a brief vibration to correct it.
The iPosture contains Wearable Intelligent Nano-Sensor (WINSTM), a microchip that monitors stance several times each second. The iPosture operates on a coin-sized battery. Specialised software filters spurious movements, which allows the iPosture to adapt to a variety of activities and unique body types. The iPosture can be worn as a pendant, clipped to clothing or stuck on directly to skin. It can be reset any time allowing the user to fine tune their best personal stance, be it moving from a sitting to a standing position or vice versa.
