The Road to Digital Imaging
In a time of change and transition, radiology equipment needs to be flexible enough to meet both current and future needs.
Radiology has Always been a Fast-Paced, Demanding and evolving environment, yet today, with modern diagnoses demanding the highest quality imaging, and budget constraints demanding efficiency, productivity and cost reductions, working in a radiology department is becoming increasingly complex. It requires a unique blend of communication skills, sophisticated technical infrastructure and insightful medical observations – at a time when the drive is on to make the transition from analogue to digital imaging.
Sharing the knowledge
Agfa’s full range of CR solutions has been developed to grow and adapt to this changing medical imaging environment and Agfa has worked closely with radiolog sts and technicians for more than 100 years to improve image quality and working practises. This shared knowledge has led to the development of a deep understanding of the realities of working radiology departments and the creation of a suite of solutions specifically built around their need to streamline workflow and maximise efficiency. From image acquisition, ID and digitising, to image quality control and processing, Agfa offers everything necessary for streamlined, effective, workflow management.
In addition to being attentive to customers’ changing workflow needs, Agfa helped prepare them to make the change from classic to digital imaging – all the time recognising that any transition is gradual and demands careful consideration. Every customer, irrespective of the size and complexity of operation, requires the freedom to make the change from analogue to digital at their own pace. Which is why Agfa’s CR solutions, from entrylevel products through to those appropriate for spacerestricted environments and high-capacity requirements in general radiology and beyond, offer both the flexibility to grow and adapt to the changing medical imaging environment, and provide a clear growth path from whatever stage of development customers have already achieved.
A Solution for Every Need
At entry level is INITIA, a modular range of imaging solutions that provides private practices, clinics and small- to medium-sized hospitals with a flexible, costeffective entry to digital imaging. Through EMBRACE, customers benefit from fully integrated analogue and digital solutions from the point of acquisition to the release of mammography reports. For those customers who face the challenge of in room or centralised solutions, ADC solutions provide a wide range of options. And for those that require a hard copy solution, there is the DRYSTAR range, with all the associated ecological and cost benefits dry imaging solutions offer.
Add to these solutions Agfa’s comprehensive range of dedicated application software for specialist examinations, including full leg full spine, paediatrics and dental, and customers are guaranteed to find a solution that is right for where they are today, as well as where they aspire to be in the future.
High Quality Quaranteed
Providing flexibility and a wide choice of solutions does not mean sacrificing quality. All Agfa Computed Radiology solutions are powered by MUSICA image processing software – generally recognised as the industry standard – that provides enhanced visualisation of image detail. Agfa is also developing a software for computer-aided detection and other breakthrough technologies, such as Agfa’s needle-based storage phosphor, which will help redefine image quality and speed up workflow.
Looking to the Digital Future
And as you would expect from a company with Agfa’s history, looking to the future, its commitment goes beyond radiographic imaging. Agfa is committed to developing new products and technologies for disciplines other than classic radiology, and expanding into the world of IT, with the ultimate aim of providing customers with a complete EPR solution.
