Gen-Probe launches APTIMA(R) HPV Assay

Gen-Probe Incorporated announced the launch of APTIMAŽ HPV Assay, a molecular diagnostic test to detect human papillomavirus (HPV) that causes cervical cancer. The APTIMA HPV Assay is CE marked and is available for sale in 13 European Union countries.
Commenting on the occasion, Gen-Probe's President and Chief Operating Officer, Carl Hull said, "The CE marking and launch of our APTIMA HPV Assay in Europe reflect Gen-Probe's commitment to the development of novel, more accurate molecular diagnostic tests to detect life-threatening infectious diseases such as cervical cancer".
