The Organizing Committee of China Med Donated 50,000RMB to Sichuan Earthquake-hit Area

The7.8-magnitude ravaging earthquake jolted Wenchuan county of Sichuan Province at 14:28, May 12, 2008, which shocked the whole nation and caused huge damages and pains to the villages and people in the hit areas. Facing such a sudden disaster, the organizers of International Medical Instruments and Equipment Exhibition (China Med), namely, Health Department of General Logistics Department,PLA, China World Trade Center Co., Ltd., Huitong Xingye International Exhibition (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd. offered their joint hands and donated 50,000 RMB yuan to the hit areas through Red Cross China.

As the famous brand medical event of the highest international and professional flairs in China and Asia at large, China Med, with a successful course of development for the past two decades, boasts numerous internationally renowned exhibitors such as Siemens, GE, Philips, Toshiba, Wandong, etc., and has always adhered to the tenet of “Technical Innovation and Life Caring”. By doing its bit to help the hit areas, the organizing committee hopes people in the hit areas could conquer all the difficulties and rebuild their homes as early as possible. At the same time, the organizing committee of China Med also calls for donation of most advanced medical equipment and disaster relief materials by exhibitors so as to live up to their commitment for social accountability.

As the Chinese saying goes, when disaster struck, help came from all sides. Currently there are many famous medical equipment enterprises home and abroad, who are also exhibitors at China Med, showed their deep concern for the earthquake-hit areas and donated money and goods at the first time. E.g., the internationally renowned medical IT supplier - Carestream Health, Inc., immediately decided to donate medical appliances and technical services worth of 3.5 million RMB yuan to the earthquake-hit areas after hearing the bad news. Shenzhen Mindray Bio-medical Electronics Co.Ltd donated 1million RMB and its Chairman Mr. Xu Hang and President Mr. Li Xiting donated in their personal names high-performance portable multi-parameter patient monitors worth of 3.2 million RMB yuan through the Health Department of Sichuan Province. Fujifilm Medical Systems (Shanghai) Co.,Ltd has contacted the national Red Cross and is ready for donation of both cash and supplies totaling several million RMB yuan including medical film, etc. Omron Corporation and Omron (China) Co., Ltd. also decided to donate 30 million yen and medical instruments worth of 300,000 RMB yuan such as blood-pressure meters, thermometers, etc., through Red Cross China. Also among the philanthropic donators were Siemens (2 million RMB yuan), Philips (2 million RMB yuan and 50 sets of monitoring equipment), Toshiba (1.3 million RMB yuan), Shenzhen Mindray (1 million RMB yuan), Beijing Fukuda (equipments worth of 1.5 million RMB yuan), etc. Currently the donating activities are still going on. After the merciless striking by the earthquake, the demand for medical instruments and equipment is soaring up due to the poor medical conditions and very limited medical equipment in thequake –hit areas. We wish that exhibitors of China Med could uphold the events tenet of “Technical Innovationand life caring”, and positively donate medical appliances and equipment to the quake-hitareas, so as to serve the urgent needs of the local people and help them conquer all the difficulties and rebuild their new homes. Let’s unite together and leverage the professional strength of our medical equipment industry to help the people in quake-hit areas and do our bit for the disaster relief.
