8th Asia Pacific Congress of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology

The 8th Asia Pacific Congress of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology will commence on 9 June 2008, in Kuala Lumpur, beginning with three pre –congress workshops that will run concurrently at the University Malaya Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Subang Jaya Medical Centre, Selangor and Selayang Hospital, Selangor.

Dato’ Liow Tiong Lai, Minister of Health, will officiate at the opening ceremony scheduled on the morning of 10 June 2008, at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, which is the venue for the main congress.

This congress will see members of the radiology fraternity from Asia Pacific and Europe converge under one roof.  Organising chairman, Dr. Alex Tang, from the Subang Jaya Medical Centre, said that the aim of this congress was to promote vascular, neurovascular and interventional radiology; and to keep local and regional fraternities abreast of the latest developments, applications and treatment options; to share experiences and to promote networking.

The three-day congress is organised by The Malaysian Society of Interventional Radiology and the College of Radiology Malaysia under the umbrella of the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology (APSCVIR). It is co-sponsored by the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and the Cardiovascular Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE).
