ADX16 Sydney Opens & Closes With Record Numbers

Monday, March 21, 2016

The ADX16 Sydney dental exhibition reaffirmed its status as Australia’s premier dental event with opening and closing day visitor numbers exceeding those set when it was last held two years ago.  Convened biennially by the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA), the peak business organisation representing suppliers of products and services to dental professionals, the event was held over 18-20 March 2016 in the Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island.

“It was clear in the exhibition’s opening hour that ADX16 Sydney was going to be something special and the attendance figures confirmed that,” said Troy Williams, ADIA Chief Executive Officer.

ADX16 Sydney is not only Australia’s largest dental exhibition; it’s the nation’s largest healthcare exhibition too.  Products displayed at ADX16 Sydney ranged from digital imaging equipment through to dental instruments and restorative materials for teeth.  A number of exhibitors were demonstrating the latest 3D technology used by the dental laboratory sector.

“That’s what continues to make this trade show truly unique: it’s where dentists and allied oral healthcare professionals come to see the latest products from Australia and overseas, many of which are launched locally at this event, and to learn about the innovative services available that can transform their businesses,” Mr Williams said.

Factors contributing to the record attendance on the opening and closing days were initiatives such as free shuttle busses and ferries to the venue, free face painting and creche for children and the free ADX16 Sydney welcome reception which was sponsored by CMA Ecocycle and held last Friday night.

“From the outset, at ADIA our focus was on making it as easy as possible for dental professionals to attend ADX16 Sydney and to ensure it was an event where the entire dental community could come together.  Combine the attendance numbers with some great visitor feedback and it is clear we achieved our objectives in this area,” Mr Williams said.

One of the things that make ADX Sydney exhibitions unique in the dental sector is that it is an event where dental professionals come to see and buy products and services from leading local suppliers.

“Feedback from exhibitors has been exceptional and reports concerning sales exceeding targets continue to roll into the ADIA office.  It’s clear that, from the perspective of businesses supplying products and services to dental professionals, the ADX Sydney series of events is without equal,” Mr Williams said.

Little more than one day after ADX16 Sydney, momentum is already building towards the next instalment of Australia’s premier dental event which will be held over 23-25 March 2018 in the new International Convention Centre Sydney.
