DaVita Announces Intent to Enter into Transaction with Inspira Health Network to Provide Dialysis Services

Thursday, June 09, 2016

DaVita Kidney Care, a division of DaVita HealthCare Partners, today announced its intent to enter into a joint venture acquisition with Inspira Health Network that will bring DaVita's industry-leading quality patient care to Southern New Jersey. The proposed joint venture would transfer majority ownership of three Inspira dialysis centers located in Vineland, Millville and Bridgeton to DaVita and create opportunities to grow dialysis services throughout the communities which Inspira currently serves.

"Once finalized, this long-term joint venture between two innovative, leading health care providers will deliver superior and comprehensive renal care in Southern New Jersey," said Charlie Choi, group vice president at DaVita HealthCare Partners. "Our combined capabilities could also allow us to meet a growing need for high-quality dialysis services in the surrounding communities."

DaVita, which operates 2,278 outpatient dialysis centers nationwide serving approximately 180,000 patients, has been recognized throughout the country for its clinical quality, positive teammate culture and community service. The company also operates 124 outpatient dialysis centers located in 10 countries outside the United States.

"This transaction will be a win for our community," said John DiAngelo, Inspira Health Network President and CEO. "DaVita is a leading global provider of kidney care services and we're pleased to partner with them to bring their industry-leading quality patient care to Southern New Jersey."

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Five-Star Quality Rating program rates dialysis providers from one to five stars to measure patient outcomes, giving consumers a better picture of how a center is performing. For the second year in a row, DaVita has the highest number of four- and five-star centers in the country, twice as many as other dialysis providers. DaVita is proud to bring this level of care to the 270 patients who treat at the three Cumberland County dialysis centers and beyond.

The transaction will close subject to regulatory approvals, completion of due diligence and other required closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
