Exosystems launches its customized neuromuscular rehabilitation solution in MEDICA

Monday, November 12, 2018

This month, South Korea's emerging robotics company Exosystems will unveil its first product on the market at MEDICA 2018 in Dusseldorf , Germany.

The ICT rehabilitation device, called the exoRehab , helps provide "personalized rehabilitation guidelines" to patients who need neuromuscular rehabilitation.

Unlike other FES electrical stimulation devices or ICT rehabilitation solutions, the exoRehab provides electrical stimulation that helps patients receive therapeutic stimulation and personalized exercises. The program also allows users to do rehabilitation exercises based on their body data and monitor the health status of the affected area.

"As stated by the company's philosophy of" Healthcare and beyond, "our goal is to provide opportunities for people to move beyond human limits when it comes to medical rehabilitation," said Hooman Lee, director of marketing exoRehab. . "We strive to help people recover limited physical capabilities as effectively as possible while simplifying the overall process."

Most conventional rehabilitation methods only offer rigorous and rigid ways to exercise and recover. The objective of exoRehab is to offer efficient rehabilitation by generating personalized physical and electrical stimulation programs based on the user's musculoskeletal data.

While developing the exoRehab, the company detected three problems that patients face during their rehabilitation process and established the purposes of the device taking into account these findings.

The three main problems encountered with traditional methods of rehabilitation are: repetitive and boring movements, secluded hospitals and lack of rehabilitation services. The exoRehab was created to help eliminate such problems with its functionalities that include: wearable, training of exercises and collection of medical AI data.

Although exoRehab is the company's first hardware project, this emerging company has already become famous in the medical community. Some of the achievements of Exosystems so far in the medical field include industrial milestones such as full approval of the Korea Ministry of Food and Drugs (KFDA) and the Korea Good Manufacturing Practices (K-GMP) process.

The partners of the company include the NGO Medipeace, together with the medical institutes of the Bundang University Hospital of the University of Seoul and the Wonju Christian Hospital.

Exosystems, and its commercial partners in the medical field, together with its inaugural rehabilitation device, are ready to enter the European and North American markets, and an extension to direct consumer subscription plans for the future has also been planned.
