Inovia Vein Specialty Centers (Inovia Vein) has added Alexander D. Nicoloff, MD of Portland to its group of physicians exclusively treating venous disease in Oregon. Dr. Nicoloff will lead Inovia’s newest clinic, located in Northwest Portland.

Leg problems related to venous insufficiency, varicose veins, and complications from blood clotting in the veins are very common, impacting millions of Americans. The Inovia Vein Specialty Clinics are the only 100% vein treatment focused clinics in Oregon, with locations in Bend, Tigard, and now Northwest Portland.

Dr. Nicoloff is a board certified vascular surgeon whose practice will focus entirely on the treatment of venous disease, including venous insufficiency, varicose veins, spider veins, deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and venous ulcers. Prior to Inovia, Dr. Nicoloff practiced Vascular Surgery in Portland for over 20 years while on staff at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center and Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center. Among his specialties is the care of complex vascular surgery patients with the full spectrum of arterial and venous disease. Over the years he has developed expertise treating complicated patients with deep venous obstruction and blood clotting in the legs, as well as more common forms of venous disease.

“I joined Inovia Vein to bring my expertise treating a wide variety of vascular disorders and focus on a special interest of mine -- caring for patients with common venous disorders,” said Dr. Nicoloff. “Here I can spend more time working directly with patients to figure out optimal treatment pathways and treat them over time in an efficient and convenient outpatient setting until their issues are resolved.”

“We are pleased to have a vascular surgeon with Dr. Nicoloff’s experience and reputation join our team as we expand our services for patients in need of vein care into Northwest Portland,” said Dr. Edward Boyle, of the Inovia Vein Specialty Centers. “This is our third clinic in Oregon, and second in the Portland metropolitan area where we can exclusively provide specialty, outpatient vein care.”

Dr. Nicoloff attended the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis where he achieved his medical degree with honors. He completed an internship and residency in general surgery and fellowship in vascular surgery at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland. He also completed a fellowship in Endovascular Surgery in Arizona. He is board certified in general and vascular surgery.
