Medline, a global medical supplies distributor and manufacturer, today announced a new agreement with Novation, a leading health care services company serving the members and affiliates of VHA Inc., UHC, Children's Hospital Association and Provista LLC. The agreement is expected to help members serviced by Novation throughout the continuum of care generate cost savings and reduce medical waste by providing single-use device reprocessing services through the Medline ReNewal Program.
The agreement will offer members a tailored program to address their medical device reprocessing needs. They will have access to quality devices and a real time, comprehensive online program, all while working with a reprocessor that can personalize the program to best suit the facilities’ needs. The three-year contract is expected to help deliver cost savings of approximately five to 10 percent.
“Medline ReNewal is dedicated to ensuring that members served by Novation are reaping the benefits of reprocessing while reducing their reliance on having to purchase new devices,” said Scott Simonson, vice president, national accounts, Medline. “By leveraging our innovative tools such as the OnDemand online management system, healthcare facilities will receive real-time reporting, order tracking, custom savings reports and month-to-month trend reports that will ultimately lead to more cost-effective and productive operations.”
Since 1997 Medline ReNewal has been producing financial benefits, clinical satisfaction and environmentally friendly results for thousands of healthcare facilities by successfully reprocessing single-use devices. If hospitals nationwide adopted SUD reprocessing intervention, the cost savings would add up to $540 million annually.
The contract is effective through Aug. 30, 2018.
