Saturday, June 13, 2015

Odessa Regional Medical Center announced today that it has purchased the assets of Basin Healthcare Center, a fourteen-bed surgical hospital located in Odessa, Texas. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Basin Healthcare Center opened in February 2010. Under its new ownership, the facility has been renamed Odessa Regional Medical Center South Campus. The facility will continue to offer a wide range of surgical and diagnostic services and quality care from trusted Permian Basin physicians and staff.

“We are excited to welcome Basin Healthcare into the ORMC family and to combine the services and technologies of these facilities, along with the skills and expertise of our medical staffs and employees,” said Stacey L. Gerig, Chief Executive Officer of Odessa Regional Medical Center. “Together, we will provide high quality care to the residents of the Permian Basin.”

Basin Healthcare Center built its reputation on providing quality inpatient and outpatient surgical services. Odessa Regional Medical Center celebrated 40 years of serving the Permian Basin earlier this week impacting most areas of healthcare including maternity and neonatal intensive care, as well as cardiac, surgical, general medical, and emergency services.

“Aligning Basin with Odessa Regional will allow patients to receive the best possible care in the most appropriate and convenient setting for them, while also reducing the cost to deliver that care,” said Jennifer Swendsen, Chief Nursing Officer at Basin Healthcare Center.
