Via Surgical Ltd., a leading developer of novel surgical fixation technologies for hernia repair, announced today it has entered into an exclusive US distribution agreement with Progressive Medical, Inc. for distributing its lead product FasTouchTM across 50 states of the U.S.A

The FasTouch™ Fixation System is intended for fixation of prosthetic material to soft tissues in various minimally invasive and open surgical procedures such as hernia repairs. FasTouch SuturesTM, for the first time, provides surgeons fixation that is designed like sutures and delivered like tacks. This next generation technology is the first to provide lockable, flexible suture-like fixation that is truly trans-fascial with less foreign body material. For physicians and patients, this has the potential to increase confidence in fixation, minimize complications such as adhesions and post-op pain and lead to a faster recovery. In addition, The FasTouch Fixation System uses exchangeable cartridges potentially providing increased value and cost savings over traditional fixation devices for Healthcare institutions.

"We are excited to have Progressive Medical as our exclusive US distributor partner, Progressive Medical with its outstanding track record, surgical focus and extensive national coverage is an ideal partner to introduce FasTouchTM, a novel and very promising surgical fixation technology," commented John Gomes, Chief Commercial Officer of Via Surgical, Ltd.

"The FasTouch System provides innovation in hernia fixation with the potential to allow for reduced patient pain and improve outcomes while reducing cost by maximizing efficiency with the use of exchangeable cartridges. We are excited to partner with Via Surgical to offer an innovative product designed to improve outcomes and quality of care, our mission and commitment to the patients and customers we serve," remarked Mark Martin, the President of Progressive Medical, Inc.
