West Valley Medical Center to expand surgery center

Friday, March 13, 2015

West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday for an expansion and renovation of its surgery center. The $6.25 million project will add 2,700 square feet to the surgery center and renovate the current space, which is nearly 11,000 square feet, said West Valley spokeswoman Wendy McClain. More details about the project will be announced next week, she said. The surgery center is on the 10th Avenue side of the hospital near the intersection of 10th and Logan Street. The groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the center. Work is also underway on a $3 million expansion to the hospital's cardiac electrophysiology catheterization lab. It will increase the suite's square footage from 1,400 to 6,000 square feet and include new, advanced equipment. The project is expected to be complete in May.
