Joseph Knight
Simpson Interventions, Inc., a leading medical technology company specializing in cardiovascular interventional devices, has announced the appointment of Dr. Joseph Knight as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 1, 2024. Dr. Knight succeeds the company’s founder and previous CEO, Dr. John B. Simpson, who will continue in his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors and take on the additional position of Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Simpson has led the company since its inception in 2019.
Dr. Knight brings an impressive academic and professional background to the role, with a Ph.D. from ETH Zurich, an MBA from Duke University, and engineering degrees from the University of South Florida. He is a Fellow of Stanford University’s Biodesign Innovation Program and has previously served as President and CEO of InnAVasc Medical. Dr. Knight has also contributed to several early-stage ventures, including iRhythm Technologies and Medici Medical Technologies, and has worked in strategic roles at Medtronic.

Dr. Simpson emphasized that Dr. Knight is well-suited to take Simpson Interventions through its next growth phase. “Dr. Knight’s operational expertise makes him the ideal leader as we move beyond our early milestones and continue revolutionizing interventional cardiology,” Simpson said.
