The 2006 International Medical instruments and equipment exhibition (China Med 2006) will be held at the China international exhibition Center, Beijing from 11 to 14 april 2006.

With 17 years of steady growth, China Med has established a unique market position: a channel for overseas medical machinery manufacturers to enter China’s market, a platform for domestic hospitals and distributors to find new products and new technologies, and an ideal site for foreign buyers and importers to purchase Chinese products. It passed Union of International Fairs (UFI) certification in 2004, which renders China Med the only event certified by UFI in the Chinese medical appliances industry. It also became a US Chamber-approved event in late 2005.

Record-Breaking Event

With expanding scale and an increasing number of exhibitors, the turnover in each of the last few events exceeded $30m.Each year, China Med attracts tens of thousands of traders in the medical appliances industry, and trade visitors from research institutes, governmental bodies, hospital procurement and administrative sectors. China Med 2005 broke records in terms of exhibition space, number of visitors and turnover, boasting more than 20,000m2 of exhibition area, 451 exhibitors (Chinese and foreign), with a total of 37,245 visitors during the four-day event. China Med 2006 will be full of eyecatching events. Many big exhibitors and customised booths from China Med 2005 are looking forward to participating in China Med 2006, including famous brands such as Siemens, GE, Philips,Toshiba, Sysmex, Shanghai Nison, Kodak, Hitachi, and Shimadzu. And many overseas small and medium-sized enterprises are planning to expand their exhibition space at China Med 2006 in order to promote their corporate images. Almost all renowned domestic exhibitors like Sanfeng and Huilong are planning to expand their exhibition spaces significantly and adopt customised booths. Exhibitor groups from Germany, Spain, USA, Finland, Japan, Korea and Taiwan China will take part in China Med 2006. The organisers are in close contact with exhibitor groups from Italy and New Zealand in an effort to invite them to organise high-quality exhibitors to participate in China Med.

On the domestic side, South China Group, East China Group, High Tech Industry Group, Beijing-Tianjin Group and other regional exhibitors will be present. In addition, special areas for biological inspection, oral health and disinfection equipment will be set up for domestic exhibitors, to make the exhibits more specialised and offer convenience to trade visitors.

Medical Consumables Pavilion

With the increasing demand for and supply of consumables, the first Medical Consumables Pavilion will not only promote the exchange of products and technologies in this particular field, but also make it more convenient for buyers to visit and purchase medial consumables. During the event, the organising committee will invite customers with demand on consumables products to hold business negotiations, and meanwhile, more than 30,000 trade visitors will do business face to face.

Top Buyers and Value-Added Services

At China Med 2006, the medical department of the general logistics department, Chinese People’s Liberation Army will organise directors and purchasing officers of military hospitals to visit the event and conduct an on-site bid invitation and selection and testing of medical equipment for military systems, with a purchase volume in excess of $30m.

200,000 tickets have been distributed to target visitor groups in China and overseas. Besides military buyers, the organisers will directly invite and organise presidents and purchasing executives from regional health and medical systems, such as key hospitals and medical institutes in various regions, to visit China Med, which will bring a real return to exhibitors.
