Astria Health Breaks Ground on Behavioural Health Unit in USA
Introduction:
Astria Health has unveiled plans for the expansion of its Behavioural Health Unit at Astria Toppenish Hospital (ATH).
Features:
The Behavioural Health expansion project aims to augment ATH’s current capacity by adding 14 new beds, bringing the total to 29 beds. This increase will enable the facility to accommodate approximately 157 additional psychiatric patients annually.
The project addresses the persistent shortage of civil commitment beds and enhances the community's access to medical services.
While the existing facilities are somewhat aged, the planned remodel will transform them into state-of-the-art spaces. This includes both indoor and outdoor areas designed to create a healing environment, which is crucial for the chronically mentally ill population.
Moreover, the expansion project will generate new employment opportunities, bolstering the local economy and providing jobs for residents of Toppenish and neighbouring communities.
