Morristown Medical Centre's upgraded Emergency Department will boast nearly 100 treatment rooms and bays for adults, setting the stage for cutting-edge patient care. One of its central features will be an advanced charge desk that serves as the central 'control centre,' streamlining operations and facilitating efficient coordination.

Furthermore, the expansion allows for the relocation of the Adult Behavioural Health Unit, providing a space characterised by natural light, additional room, calming colours, and enhanced patient comforts, all contributing to a healing environment.

Technological advancements will be at the forefront of the upgraded Emergency Department. This includes state-of-the-art computed tomography (CT) scanners that significantly reduce imaging time for paediatric patients, thereby minimising the necessity for anaesthesia.

The facility will also boast the latest in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technology, featuring high-efficiency particulate air filtration systems throughout the new Emergency Department.

The ongoing expansion and modernisation project for the emergency department at Morristown Medical Centre is antipated to complete in 2024.
