Introduction:
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) announced a major expansion plan of its main campus that includes the construction of a new inpatient hospital in King of Prussia.
Features:
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will build a 52-bed, 250,000-square-foot inpatient hospital in King of Prussia.
The new hospital will offer pediatric services such as plastic surgery, orthopedics, radiology, and ear, nose, and throat (ENT).
The facility consists of a 16 pediatric intensive care unit beds and 36 medical-surgical beds.
It will have a 24/7, 20-bay emergency department and an operating room suite with up to four operating rooms, specialising in elective services requiring overnight stays.
The new hospital will be included with comprehensive radiology services.
The inpatient hospital on the King of Prussia campus is expected to be operational in 2021.
