ChristianaCare Announces $65.1M Investment for New Health Campus in Georgetown

Introduction

ChristianaCare has submitted a Notice of Intent to the Delaware Health Resources Board to build a new 42,000-square-foot health campus in Georgetown. The campus aims to improve access to outpatient, emergency, and inpatient care for Sussex County residents while connecting them to advanced specialty services at ChristianaCare’s regional hospitals.

Features

The campus will provide primary care, specialty services, emergency care, and inpatient care, creating a connected network of services for the local community.

ChristianaCare is collaborating with Emerus Holdings, a national leader in neighbourhood hospital operations, to deliver sustainable, high-quality care through the new facility.

The new site will integrate services to make care more accessible, efficient, and responsive to the local population, supporting the health system’s long-term strategy in Delaware.

The Georgetown health campus is expected to open in late 2028.
