ChristianaCare Expands Regional Care with $50.9M Aston Campus Hospital
Introduction:
ChristianaCare is set to open its new Aston Campus Neighbourhood Hospital in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, in early June. The $50.9 million project is designed to improve access to emergency, inpatient and outpatient healthcare services, with the hospital expected to serve around 15,000 patients each year.
Features:
The first phase of the Aston Campus includes a fully licensed neighbourhood hospital providing 24/7 emergency care, inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing and virtual specialist consultations.
Located at 700 Turner Industrial Way, the hospital features a full-service emergency department and 10 inpatient and observation beds for patients requiring short-term hospital care.
The facility is equipped with on-site CT scanning, X-ray, ultrasound and laboratory services, enabling patients to receive diagnosis and treatment in one location.
Virtual specialist consultations in cardiology, infectious diseases, critical care and hospital medicine will support clinical decision-making and patient care.
A second-phase outpatient health centre is scheduled to open in autumn 2026, offering primary care, cardiology, and cardiac diagnostics and imaging services.
The Aston Campus is expected to create approximately 75 new jobs while expanding healthcare access for communities across Delaware County.
