Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital Receives $5.5 Million to Enhance Patient Care

Introduction

Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, Florida, has been awarded $5.5 million by the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation. The funding will support expansions and renovations across the Emergency Department, Behavioral Health Center, and Labor & Delivery unit, improving access, safety, and patient experience.

Features

This project will add 8,750 square feet, remodel over 9,000 square feet of existing space, provide private exam rooms, low-acute treatment stations, and rebuild the main entrance to better handle rising patient volumes since the early 2000s.

The Behavioral Health Center, a 46-bed facility serving patients of all ages, will receive $250,000 to upgrade activity and group rooms, enhancing comfort, safety, and therapeutic engagement amid increasing demand for mental health and substance use care.

Another $250,000 will support ongoing renovations to the Labor & Delivery unit, improving maternity care with private suites, expanded birthing spaces, and a family-centred environment.
