Cooper University Health Care Invests $3B in Camden's Project Imagine Expansion
Introduction:
Cooper University Health Care has begun construction on the first stage of its ambitious $3 billion expansion of the Health Sciences Campus in Camden. Known as “Project Imagine,” this initiative represents the largest investment in Camden County’s history.

The expansion plan encompasses the addition of advanced patient care facilities, upgraded surgical and emergency services, and enhanced spaces dedicated to research and education.
The first phase involves constructing a 10-story hospital tower covering 345,000 square feet at the intersection of MLK and Haddon Avenue.
The initial phase highlights several key features, including 125 private patient rooms equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology, enhanced maternity services featuring a newly established neonatal intensive care unit, additional operating theatres, and reinforced emergency preparedness measures, such as a dedicated medical command centre.
The investment is expected to improve medical services while contributing to Camden’s economic and social development.
The project is expected to be completed by the year 2028.
