Craig Hospital Launches $100 Million Hope & Homecomings Expansion Campaign
Introduction
Craig Hospital, a leading rehabilitation hospital specialising in neurorehabilitation for individuals with spinal cord and brain injuries, has begun construction on a major campus expansion. The project, part of the $100 million Hope & Homecomings Campaign, is the largest fundraising initiative in the hospital’s 118-year history.
Features
The first phase will add more than 86,000 square feet to Craig Hospital’s East Building, increasing access to expert care and supporting advanced research.
Inpatient care will expand by 13–15%, adding at least 26 new patient rooms, including the hospital’s first 12-room Neuromedical Unit.
The project will also introduce 8,500 square feet dedicated to translational research and a new Human Movement Lab, integrating research into therapies and increasing the hospital’s research capacity.
Additionally, donor-funded holistic programs, such as recreational therapy, horticultural therapy, community reintegration, adaptive transportation, and patient assistance, will be expanded to support the whole person beyond traditional medical care.
The expansion is scheduled for completion in 2028.
