Features:
The expansion of treatment spaces from 10 to 14 in the new Emergency Department Complex also includes adding 6-8 upright treatment chairs, simplifying wait times and treating patients with lower accuracy.
The addition of the X-ray facility, lab draw station, and registration desk, along with the transformation of the old ED into clinic space, will enhance the efficiency, quality, and scope of healthcare services provided to patients in the facility.
Some of the features of the Master Facility Plan include:
- Expansion of Hospital Lab: The Hospital Lab is being expanded to 2,409 square feet in order to increase the waiting area and bench space. Additionally, a blood draw station and a patient restroom will be added to improve the facilities and services provided to patients.
- Addition of three provider workspaces to accommodate additional medical professionals.
- Expansion of Central Sterile space and installation of a second washer: This involves increasing the size of the current Central Sterile department and adding an additional washer to enhance the throughput of sterilised medical equipment.
- Construction of two additional provider pods on Oak Island: This project involves building two new provider pods on Oak Island. Provider pods are designated areas where healthcare providers can examine and treat patients.
- Expansion of the pharmacy: The pharmacy is being expanded to 2,243 square feet, likely to accommodate increased demand for medication and related services. A larger pharmacy space can provide improved efficiency and better access to medications for patients.
- Construction of a new Emergency Department Complex: A new emergency department complex laid with 8,000 square foot will serve as an expanded and improved emergency department, providing a larger space to treat patients with urgent medical needs.
