Florida State University Announces $414 Million Investment to Build FSU Health Hospital

Introduction:

Florida State University (FSU) has announced plans to build a new acute care hospital in Panama City Beach under the FSU Health name, aimed at improving access and fostering innovation in health care across Northwest Florida. The project, estimated at $414 million, received bond financing approval from the Florida Board of Governors and the FSU Board of Trustees.

Features:

The first phase will support up to 180 beds and offer emergency care, general surgery, diagnostic imaging, and specialised services such as cardiology, neurology, and orthopaedics. An Academic Clinical Collaboration Agreement will guide future medical education and clinical research at the hospital.

Construction of the new Panama City Beach hospital is expected to begin soon, with operations scheduled to start in 2028.
