Introduction:
Georgetown Memorial Hospital, the South Carolina-based hospital, has announced an expansion project with an estimated budget of US$34 million.
Expansion Strategy
The façade of the 64-year old hospital was recently completed and the first phase of the expansion project is slated to be operational this month.The hospital management believes such expansions / renovations, done in phases, are cost-effective solutions to an ageing building, could be equivalent to rebuilding a new facility.

The expansion / renovation project involves construction of two new surgical units, bigger patient rooms, a cardiac catheterization lab etc.Once complete, the hospital’s expansion will help in easy accessibility of outpatient and inpatient services by locating them centrally.
