Introduction

The Saudi Arabia-Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Center (HMC) has been providing world-class healthcare services and has grown to be a multifaceted conglomerate and a prominent name in the healthcare industry, since its inception in the early 90's. The Center’s fully structured medical specialization is equipped with internationally renowned up-to-date, state-of-the-art technology and highly sophisticated equipment, which cater to all medical needs of patients. HMC agreed to invest in the Dubai Healthcare City  (DHCC) project in 2003. The first phase of HMC at DHCC was completed in 2004 and the second phase, currently in progress, which was expected to be complete by mid 2006 is yet to be completed. HMC will also open a laboratory in association with Europe’s oldest reference laboratory, Laboratoire Marcel Merieux (LMM).

HMC’s multi-specialty, fully integrated medical facility at the Dubai Healthcare City shall provide the entire spectrum of modern healthcare services and will be equipped with the latest treatment and healthcare facilities.

The aim in this project is to establish a center where the latest medical technology can be provided and the best highly qualified physicians under one umbrella providing the patients with state-of-the-art medical services. In this project, the most professional international standards are been followed in every aspect beginning from before construction, to interior design, providing the latest advanced medical technology and finally employing the best staff in the area whether in the medical or administrative field.

Hospital Features

The new HMC facility will provide patients in the United Arab Emirates and the surrounding region with the opportunity to find quality healthcare administered according to international standards without the need of going abroad.

HMC facility at DHCC will be capable of treating 800 patients per day with a minimum of 120 doctors. The Center would supplement the healthcare infrastructure of not only the Emirates states but also holds the promise to become the central healthcare hub for the entire Middle-East region.

Medical team consists of an elite group of more than 150 consultants & specialists out of which 50 are American trained & board certified & the rest are European trained & board certified who are well experienced & highly qualified from world renowned medical universities & are accredited members of many internationally recognized medical societies & associations.

Apart from benefiting the citizens of Dubai, the centre will also bring advanced technologies from all over the world to DHCC. Further, the association between HMC and Laboratoire Marcel Merieux (LMM) represents a unique opportunity to link Dubai with the internationally renowned presence of Europe's most reputed laboratories group.

Budget

HMC is investing US $ 27 million (Approximately AED100) in the centre at DHCC.

Contractor & Suppliers

Abu Dhabi International Medical Services (ADI), a supplier of medical equipment in the UAE and the GE Healthcare authorized diagnostic imaging equipment dealer will supply, install and maintain GE Healthcare’s state-of-the-art high performance radiology systems at HMC’s upcoming multi-specialty medical center at Dubai Healthcare City.
