Horizon Health Network Invests US$155 million to Expand Regional Hospital
Introduction:
Horizon's Saint John Regional Hospital plans to invest US$155 million to expand and renovate the hospital. It is located at Canada.
Features:
The expansion will involve constructing a two-storey addition on the south side of the existing building along University Avenue. This addition will provide approximately 8,100 square metres (90,000 square feet) of additional space.
The multi-phase project aimed at modernising and expanding the Saint John Regional Hospital will enhance care delivery in the region.
The new addition will house various important healthcare facilities, including a new ambulatory procedure unit for endoscopy and minor procedures, oncology services such as systemic therapy, supportive care, and clinics, as well as a medical/surgical intensive care unit.
This investment will help the hospital to provide the enhnaced care needed by patients and ensures to provide that all New Brunswickers have access to primary care and surgery through the province's health plan, Stabilise Health Care: An Urgent Appeal.
Additionally, the project aims to bring significant changes and modernisation to the surgical programme. These changes are intended to improve workflow, benefiting both patients and staff at the hospital.
The entire project is estimated to take seven years to complete.
