Indiana University Health Invests $214 Million Expansion in Greater Lafayette

Introduction

Indiana University Health has approved a $214 million investment to expand healthcare services in Greater Lafayette, Indiana. This significant initiative aims to enhance access to essential medical care for residents of Tippecanoe County and neighbouring communities, ensuring high-quality treatment remains close to home.

Features

The project will deliver a new hospital in West Lafayette, marking the city’s first such facility and providing much-needed inpatient and emergency services for the growing community.

In addition, a modern, state-of-the-art cancer centre will be developed as part of the existing Arnett Hospital campus in Lafayette, offering advanced oncology care and treatment options closer to home.

The investment will also support the expansion of specialty care services in West Lafayette, increasing access to a broader range of medical expertise and reducing the need for residents to travel outside the region for specialised treatment.

These new facilities are expected to significantly improve local access to advanced treatments and specialised services.

Construction for both the cancer centre and the new hospital is scheduled to begin in 2026, with both facilities anticipated to open in 2028.
