Introduction:
Indiana University Health plans an expansion with the opening of the new hospital with an estimated investment of US$1.6 billion.
Features:
New hospital features 44-acre medical campus expansion. The expanded campus will extend from 16th Street to 12th Street and from Capitol Avenue west to I-65.
The new hospital features distinctive building of three glass-fronted towers of about 10 stories with a rooftop helipad and enclosed walkways to nearby buildings and a parking garage. In addition, the new hospital willboost the patient experience by extending its support in providing more efficiency forcare delivery and operations. Moreover, it also includes research and education facilities for IU School of Medicine to house its physicians, faculty, students and scientists.
The hospital designed with multi-tower will uphold 576 private patient beds and expansive outpatient care areas.The new hospital that will be constructed over the next six years is supposed to offer pre-eminent care for Indiana over the next half century or beyond.
The expansion of the new hospital is expected to be completed in 2026.
