Jamaica Hospital Medical Centre to Open New Emergency Department
Introduction:
Jamaica Hospital Medical Centre revealed plans for the significant expansion of Emergency Department (ED). The new emergency department will be located in New York, USA.
Features:
As part of the expansion project for Emergency Department (ED), the new design will incorporate several notable features. These include an increased number of isolation rooms equipped with negative air pressure systems. These specialised rooms are designed to minimise the risk of airborne diseases, such as COVID-19, from spreading within the ED.
The expansion plans include the addition of state-of-the-art trauma rooms that will be equipped with the latest technology. These advanced trauma rooms are specifically designed for the busiest trauma centre.
The Energency Department also includes the addition of 22 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, which will enhance the capacity to provide critical care to patients in need. This increase in ICU beds is a significant improvement that will help meet the demand for intensive care services.
The expansion of new Emergency Department is slated for completion by 2027 and provide comprehensive emergency care to residents in Southeast Queens and neighbouring areas.
