KPC to build a Healthcare City in West Bengal, India

Introduction

KPC Healthcare Services, a part of US-based KPC Group has revealed its plans to build an integrated healthcare city in West Bengal, India. The company has acquired around 300 acres of land for the healthcare city.

Budget

KPC Healthcare Services is investing around US$ 325 million in the project.

Location

The proposed Healthcare City will be set up beside its forthcoming private medical college in Jadavpur, Kolkata.

Features

The Healthcare City will include the following:

  • A 750-bed medical college
  • A 260-bed multi-speciality hospital
  • A 400-bed super specialty hospital
  • An infectious disease hospital
  • Medical information technology centre
  • A medical store that will sell medicines and healthcare consumables.

The medical college has already come up on 25 acres and the other facilities would come up over 23 acres. Dental, para-medical and inter-disciplinary college will also be as part of the campus. The college will offer specialised courses in areas like bio-medical engineering and hospital management. The college will start in September 2008.
