Lutheran Health Network Plans US$10m Outpatient Center in Wabash

Introduction

Lutheran Health Network plans to build a 30,000 square foot outpatient center in Wabash, Indiana.

Features

The project is part of the Fort Wayne-based healthcare network’s six year, US$500 million investment.

Primary care physician practices, a physical therapy and rehabilitation area, an urgent care clinic, a full laboratory, a diagnostic imaging suite, an infusion therapy center and timeshare space for additional specialists will be added to the Lutheran Health Wabash medical office.

Lutheran Health Wabash will be located at 1700 S. Alber St., which is just south of US. 24 on the north side of Wabash. Lutheran Health Network officials, Mayor Scott Long, developers, community leaders and others supporters are expected to be in attendance.

This outpatient center will bring LHN- affiliated and independent providers together under one roof, which we believe best addresses the unique needs of this community.

Total investment for this project is approximately US$10 million including equipment, furnishings and a long-term lease.

Nearly 36 jobs will be created as a result of this project, in which 23 will be LHN employees. Lutheran Air II has flown out of Wabash Municipal Airport since November 2014.

Laboratory services, X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound and mammography will be available to patients in addition to family medicine and primary care.

The Orthopedic Hospital of Lutheran Health Network will also have a satellite office for physical therapy.

Providing patients with greater community of care as a result of enhanced electronic medical record capabilities that allow information to be easily transferred between LHN facilities is another objective of the Lutheran Health Wabash outpatient center.

The Wabash urgent care facility hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

To make specialised treatment more accessible for area patients, Fort Wayne Medical Oncology and Hematology will manage a therapy infusion clinic 2 to 3 days per week.

All tenants including Lutheran Health Network will lease the building through CBRE | Sturges | Brokerage Services and Green Star Development. Moake Park Group is providing the design plans and the general contractor is Witwer Construction, Inc.
