McLaren Macomb Breaks Ground on US$68 million Phase-1 Emergency Facility Project, Northwest Tower

Introduction:

McLaren Macomb breaks ground on the Wayne and Joan Webber Emergency and Trauma Center at Northwest Tower.

Features:

The McLaren Macomb Phase 1 emergency facility project worth of US$68 million will construct a new six-story building at its Northwest Tower.

The new infrastructure will incorporate a state-of-the-art emergency department and trauma centre.

The Phase 1 construction project is expected to be completed in early 2020.

The new six-story Northwest tower is going to double the existing floor capacity to 43,735 sq ft. The block will have additional rooms, trauma bays, multiple ambulance entrance, spate waiting lounges, and entrance for various patients and their families.

The ground floor of the tower will consist of Emergency Department and the first-class will be kept available for learning, training and recreation purpose.

The six-story block will also include a graduate medical education center on the lower level which will have a capacity to accommodate about 100 residents and fellowship physicians.

In addition, a surgical suite, 32 ICU beds, and 32 private patient beds will be available on second, fourth, fifth and sixth floors respectively.

The new emergency department will allow the medical staff to accommodate as well and meet the increasing demand for healthcare.
