Introduction:
Metro South Health invests US$465 million to construct QEII hospital new clinical services building.

Features:
The project involves the construction of a five-storey clinical facility on campus. The new building will enhance QEII's surgical capabilities and expand vital support services through several key features:

•    Addition of 112 overnight beds, including seven extra Intensive Care Unit beds.
•    Increased capacity in operating theatres.
•    Refurbishment of clinical support and operational service areas within the existing main hospital building

In addition to the new beds, the project will introduce a variety of crucial supporting infrastructure elements, such as additional treatment spaces and expanded capacities in surgical and intensive care units.

This new building represents a thrilling advancement for QEII, marking the most substantial construction endeavour on campus since the expansion of the emergency department and endoscopy facilities in 2013.

After completing two new 28-bed inpatient wards in 2022 and 2023, the expansion continues with ongoing construction to improve infrastructure for allied health and outpatient departments.
