MetroHealth System Plans to Expand its Cleveland Heights Medical Center

Introduction:

MetroHealth System plans to invest US$42 million to expand healthcare facilities at its Cleveland Heights Medical Centre.

Features:

A three-story building is added to the existing medical centre at Severance Circle that includes a psychiatric urgent care centre, a part of the emergency department and high-acuity unit for patients requiring specialised care.

The new space covering 96,000 square feet will be dedicated to giving care. This will be an addition to the existing hospital of 12 beds and offers family medicine, colon screenings, an emergency department, mammography services, sports medicine, as well as a regional dispatch centre.

The new facility will be completed dedicated to serving adults, adolescents, and seniors who are addicted to drugs. In addition, it also deals with patients suffering from behavioural health issues. Moreover, this facility will add 110 new treatment beds.

This health facility expansion makes better care for people of Cuyahoga County thereby reducing the lack of care and treatment.

It is expected that this new facility will provide healthcare services for 5,000 patients annually and create 225 jobs. The construction of this new health behavioural health facility is expected to be completed in 2022.
