Millinocket Regional Hospital Plans to Contruct Emergency Department in USA
Introduction:
Millinocket Regional Hospital receives US$3.5 million to begin for the construction of a new emergency department on the hospital’s main campus in USA.
Features:
The new emergency department will feature several key enhancements and additions to better serve the community's healthcare needs.
The plans for the emergency department include enovation of the current emergency department's 4,823 square foot footprint. Additionally, there will be a substantial 5,628 square foot addition to the department.
The expansion will effectively double the current capacity of the emergency department, addressing the growing demand for emergency medical services in the region.
The revamped emergency department will be equipped with modern treatment areas specially designed to cater to cardiac and trauma patients, ensuring that they receive the highest level of care. Furthermore, the project includes the creation of a dedicated decontamination room, which is crucial for handling patients exposed to hazardous substances.
Additionally, there will be a designated overflow space within the department to accommodate sudden surges in patient volume, ensuring that patients receive prompt care even during high-demand periods.
The project also places a strong emphasis on mental health care. Specialised rooms will be constructed within the emergency department to better serve patients with mental illness, providing them with a supportive and appropriate environment for their unique needs.
Construction for the project is scheduled to commence in the summer of 2024.
