Nationwide Children’s Hospital Plans $100–$150 Million Investment in New Outpatient Facilities
Introduction
Nationwide Children’s Hospital has announced plans to invest between $100 million and $150 million over the next five years to expand paediatric healthcare services in northwest Ohio. The programme will focus on improving access to care, increasing capacity and supporting families by bringing more services closer to home.
Features
The investment will fund the construction of two new outpatient paediatric medical facilities in the Toledo region.
These centres are designed to improve patient safety, enhance the overall care experience and support the recruitment of additional healthcare professionals.
The facilities will provide a wide range of outpatient services, including diagnostic testing, therapy services, behavioural health programmes and clinical space for both primary and specialist paediatric care.
The design of the centres will focus on children and families, with child-friendly interiors and spaces that prioritise comfort and accessibility.
The facilities will also support multidisciplinary care by bringing different paediatric specialists together in one location, allowing for more coordinated and comprehensive treatment.
The new outpatient facilities are planned to open between 2028 and 2030.
