OhioHealth Pickerington Methodist Hospital Announces $65 Million Expansion of Emergency and Inpatient Services

Introduction

OhioHealth Pickerington Methodist Hospital has begun a major expansion project aimed at increasing emergency and inpatient capacity to meet rising demand in the Pickerington community.

Features

The expansion will add a new two-storey, 57,000 square foot facility to the hospital. It will significantly increase emergency department capacity with 28 additional treatment rooms, bringing the total to 44.

The project will also add one more resuscitation room, increasing the total to two, along with an extra triage room and two intake rooms to improve patient flow and reduce waiting times.

In addition to emergency care improvements, the project includes a new inpatient unit with 16 additional beds on the second floor.

This will increase the hospital’s inpatient capacity and help speed up admissions while reducing overcrowding in the emergency department. The overall aim is to improve efficiency, shorten delays, and provide more timely care for patients.

Construction has already started, with the expanded emergency department and inpatient unit expected to open in late 2028.
