OSF HealthCare Invests US$180 million to Construct New Inpatient Hospital in Ottawa, Canada

Introduction:
OSF HealthCare invests US$180 million to build a new inpatient hospital in Ottawa, Canada.

Features:
The new inpatient hospital facility will replace the current one in Ottawa. When the new hospital is built, it will be reimagined as levels and types of services offered are realigned throughout the surrounding communities.

The new hospital will prioritize patient-centered care in its design. It will feature a 26-bed inpatient behavioral health unit, 12 medical/surgical beds, and a cutting-edge surgery suite alongside emergency services, diagnostic imaging, and comprehensive outpatient care. Primary and specialty care clinics, including cardiovascular, general surgery, and OB/GYN services, will continue to operate in Ottawa.

Due to its strategic central location, OSF Saint Elizabeth-Peru will act as the primary hospital hub along the I-80 corridor, offering a comprehensive array of both inpatient and outpatient services.

These services comprise 45 medical/surgical beds, 8 ICU rooms, 11 obstetric rooms to facilitate the regional birthing center, surgery and procedure rooms, emergency services, diagnostic imaging, and extensive outpatient care facilities.

Anticipated to open in late 2027, the new facility aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality across the area.
