Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital expansion project at $140 million in Minnesota


Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital begins major renovation, expansion project with an investement of $140 million in Minnesota.


A major renovation and expansion project at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital will add 60,000 square feet, renovate 135,000 square feet, include two new inpatient floors and modernize the surgery center.

Highlights of the four-year project include:

  • • New fifth and sixth level floors on the east tower with private rooms
  • • Semi-private rooms on floors 4 -7  will be converted to private rooms
  • • When the project is complete nearly all rooms at Methodist will be private
  • • Expanding the surgery center on the west side to make it larger and standardized to improve safety and efficiency
  • • Relocating and remodeling the sterilization/decontamination area to improve flow to and from the surgery area

The project includes energy saving and sustainable features which will reduce energy consumption at Methodist by about 10 percent.  It will also enhance the healing environment on the Methodist campus, which includes a restoration of a section of Minnehaha Creek and a healing garden near the Frauenshuh Cancer Center. This expansion and renovation project is expected to be completed in 2019.
