Introduction:
PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center plans for the expansion of emergency department.
Features:
The two year construction project will double the size of the existing emergency department capacity.
Some of the features include increasing size of the current emergency department with the addition of more rooms, modern amenities, and a more private healing environment, improved patient flow with reduce wait times thus increasing overall patient satisfaction.
The expansion also includes second floor consisting of 24-bed observation unit. The addition of this second floor will reduce the patients waiting time and provides care for patients immediately after their arrival.
This expansion is done to meet the needs of the individuals and families served every day. Moreover, the new space will also provide housing stabilization, addiction resources, food security, and other social services for patients at emergemcy department.
The new emergency department is expected to be completed in 2024.
