Penn State Health Announces Plans to Build Hospital in Lancaster County

Introduction:

Penn State announced to build another central Pa. Hospital in Lancaster County.

Features:

The expansion is expected to be commenced in 30 acres near the intersection of the State road and the Harrisburg Pike. Residents of Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties can easily reach Penn State Health’s expertise and speciality services without having to drive to Hershey.

The expansion includes private inpatient beds, an emergency department, physician offices and various speciality inpatient services.

It also features an imaging lab, and complete medical and surgical capabilities.

The hospital is expected to have 120 to 130 beds along with a convenience store, daycare and professional building will also be built in the area.

The new facility is also expected to create hundreds of jobs, both during construction and for hospital operations.

The construction is anticipated to begin in 2020.
