Richmond Hospital Invests $1.96 Billion in New Acute Care Tower Redevelopment

Richmond and the surrounding areas are set to benefit from a significant healthcare upgrade as Vancouver Coastal Health moves ahead with the next stage of the Richmond Hospital redevelopment.

Features:

The redevelopment will enhance healthcare capacity with an additional 113 hospital beds and expanded medical facilities.

The number of operating theatres will increase from eight to eleven, while emergency department capacity will grow from 62 to 86 treatment spaces.

The project will also introduce three new CT scanners, a second MRI machine, and an additional interventional radiology room as part of planned improvements.

The redevelopment aims to modernise the facility and meet the growing healthcare needs of the community.

The new acute care tower will be anticipated by 2029.
