Sanford Health Unveils Plans for New Heart Hospital in North Dakota

Introduction:

Sanford Health has announced its plans for the construction of a new and standalone heart hospital in downtown Bismarck, North Dakota, US.

Features:

This new facility will be built around Sanford's existing Seventh and Rosser Clinic, between Sixth Street North and North Seventh Street on the north side of Rosser Avenue.

It will also connect to the Sanford hospital through an existing tunnel and skywalk to the clinic.

The new hospital will combine all existing heart services, which are scattered in several areas, into one building for all the cardiac patients.

The services will include consultations, outpatient testing, cardiac cath labs where the doctors would perform minimally invasive tests and procedures on the heart; and almost all surgical heart procedures.

There will be no heart transplants performed at the heart hospital and Sanford doesn't have a heart transplant at any of its facilities. Instead, such cases are sent to the University of Minnesota hospital in downtown Minneapolis and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

The new facility is still in the early planning phase. However, the officials at Sanford did not provide a timeline for the construction of the facility, but it was anticipated that it would be completed in the next decade.
