Introduction:
Skanska has entered into terms of agreement with Oulu University Hospital for the construction of a new hospital building in Oulu, Finland.
Features:
The new ten-storey main building, covering a total area of about 59,000 square meters will include functions for emergency rooms, intensive care units, operating rooms, delivery wards, and support functions.
The new facility will replace outdated hospital buildings completed in the 1970s.
Built by two alliance consortiums, the building consists of two parts, wherein Skanska is the main contractor in the B alliance. Also, parts of the alliance areOulu University Hospital, Caverion, Siemens and Tierna Group, a joint venture of architectural agencies.
The construction works have begun in 2019, and the project is scheduled for completion in phases. It’s expected to be completed fully by the end of 2023.
The share of the contract of Skanska is worth EUR 190 M, about SEK 2.0 billion, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the first quarter of 2020.
