Sutter Health Begins Construction on $380 Million Advanced Cancer and Care Complex
Introduction
Sutter Health has officially started construction on its new Advanced Cancer Center and Care Complex on the campus of Sutter’s Memorial Medical Center. The $380 million project is part of Sutter Health’s multi-year plan to expand healthcare services and provide patients in California’s Central Valley with greater access to high-quality outpatient and specialty care.
Features
The four-storey, 165,000-square-foot complex will centralise multiple specialties, outpatient services, and advanced diagnostic facilities, allowing patients to receive care in one convenient location.
The first and second floors will house the Advanced Cancer Center, offering clinic visits, cancer screenings, infusion and radiation therapy, imaging, laboratory services, pharmacy, and complementary therapies.
It will also provide access to around 150 clinical trials and connect patients with additional Sutter cancer specialists in the Bay Area and Sacramento region when needed.
The third floor will feature an ambulatory surgery centre with four operating rooms, four procedure rooms, and space for future expansion, providing high-quality outpatient surgical care close to home.
The fourth floor will include enhanced outpatient clinics, accommodating over 25 clinicians and 50 exam rooms to meet the region’s growing demand for clinical services.
Once completed, the centre will employ approximately 120 physicians and 400 team members, serving tens of thousands of patients annually.
The Advanced Cancer Center and Care Complex is scheduled to open in 2029, offering modern, patient-focused care and streamlined access to multiple medical services in a single location.
