TriStar Summit Medical Centre Invests US$64 mn for New Hospital
Introduction:
TriStar Summit Medical Centre plans to construct new tower. The three-storey tower will be located in Davidson and Wilson counties, USA.
Features:
The three-storey tower project is laid with 119,504 square feet to expand critical care capacity and enhance the existing visitors lobby and cafeteria space.
The first floor balcony connects new tower to the current hospital. Moreover, the tower adds 16 beds to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), thereby increasing the total number to 40 ICU beds. The second floor will be developed to support future capacity needs.
The $64 million tower expansion project includes:
- US$20 million - 25-bed observation unit opened in December 2022, will function as an extension to the hospital. Patients requiring hospitalisation can now remain in the observation unit for 28-48 hours for evaluation. The unit frees up space for the emergency room and patients can be seen quickly and efficiently.
- Another US$4 million is invetsed to renovate 5th Floor. Renovation of the 5th floor includes new floors all over the unit and improvements to patient rooms including new fixtures and remodelled bathrooms. A new nursing unit is also built.
- An investment of US$3.6 million is invested for Graduate Medical Education (GME) Expansion. This includes new classroom space, as well as a lounge and sleep space for students on call completed in July.
- Mt. Juliet Freestanding ER expansion planned with US$1 million increases access to emergency medical services along the I-40 East corridor kicked off June 15. In addition, it also adds three exam rooms to the facility and a storage building to the campus.
The construction of the three-storey tower project is expected to complete in 2024.
