UAE's Danat Al Emarat Hospital to undergo US$81 million Expansion

Introduction:

The United Eastern Medical Services Board (UEMedical) announced the second phase of the expansion project of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children in Abu Dhabi.

Features:

The second phase of the expansion includes the construction of a new tower with a capacity of 100 beds, at a total cost of US$81 million.

Construction of the hospital is likely to begin in 2019 and is expected to be complete by mid-2020.

The new tower will be adjacent to the current hospital building.

The expansion of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children will create 500 new jobs, of which will 100 will be for new doctors, 200 for nurses, and scores more for technical staff that will join the healthcare unit upon its completion.

The phase 2 expansion of the hospital will include more healthcare services, including pediatric care and increased neonatal intensive care unit beds.

With the completion of the second tower, the total number of hospital beds will increase to 225 beds covering various specialties.
