The UCHealth University of Colourado Hospital has unveiled a new inpatient pavilion located at the western side of the current facility.

This pavilion serves as a vital expansion aimed at improving access to behavioural health care while also adding more hospital beds to accommodate all patients.
The newly constructed 11-storey tower is set to address the critical need for additional patient beds and services, notably featuring a state-of-the-art inpatient behavioural health unit. Moreover, the tower ensures that the hospital to deliver exceptional care to its patients.
When fully operational, the facility will boast an impressive total of 215 new inpatient beds, including a specialised 40-bed inpatient behavioural health unit. Additionally, there will be ten brand-new operating rooms and reserved space designed to accommodate future expansion needs.
The new 40-bed behavioural health unit offers a secure, therapeutic, and trauma-informed environment for individuals arriving at UCH in psychiatric crisis.
These additional inpatient rooms and services within the new tower are poised to effectively meet the growing demands of a broader spectrum of patients.
The new tower is currently in the process of a phased opening and is anticipated to reach its full capacity by the year 2024.
